Sales Policy

Please observe that this policy is only a draft and it will be revised at a later stage.

If you are interested in any of our kittens, please take the time to tell me something about yourself.  Your name and where you live.  Are you allowed to keep pets if you rent?  Are you looking for a pet or show kitten?  Do you have a preference for a certain colour or sex?   Our kittens are important to us and we want to know who we are talking to and the conditions our kitten would be housed in.

Please be aware, we are NOT a pet shop.  Our babies are raised in our home, underfoot, and with lots of love.  Our primary purpose is to breed outstanding kittens and cats for the show ring.  Many of our kittens will only be available to show homes.   However, when raising any animal, there will always be those babies that don’t quite measure up for show.  It could be something as simple as being the wrong colour/pattern, or having blue instead of copper eyes...or sometimes a cat just doesn’t enjoy being shown (like Kira) … anything that keeps them from meeting or exceeding the breed standard can make them a pet.  They are still healthy, playful and beautiful in their own right and nothing will keep you from enjoying the kitten in full.  These are the ones we place as pets.

All cats/kittens sold as pets are to be spayed/neutered.  We do not sell breeding cats to non-showing homes.  A showing home is generally one who has  a registered breeder name, or any other cat registry world wide, and who has an understanding of what it takes to both groom and present a kitten or cat for the show ring. That is not to say we will not help new people get started. We do and we enjoy doing so!  But we strongly encourage a new person interested in the breed, to seek out a mentor and to join breed lists/e-zines in an effort to educate themselves about both the breeds, and show ethics.  Attending a number of shows is a good start. In other words, show us that you are serious about learning to show the baby we entrust to you.

Showing a cat, DOES NOT automatically entitles the buyer to breeding rights. In fact the majority are sold as cats to be shown in premiership or alters.  Many people find showing an alter the best of both worlds; they have a beautiful purebred cat to compete with, without the worries and headaches of the hormones and behaviours related to breeding animals.

Kittens are reserved by making a non-refundable deposit only. Deposits are considered payment toward boarding, grooming and lost opportunities if the buyer changes their mind.  We will accept payments on our kittens within reason.  With that said, our babies are ready to go home between 12-16 weeks for pets and 16-20 weeks ( or when adult teeth come in) for show kittens.  All balances must be paid in full by that time--or 10 days before shipping--whichever is sooner.   (So if a kitten is already 4 months of age, it will not be eligible for prolonged payments.)  Payment details will be copied into the sales agreement with a copy going to both the buyer and seller.  Should a payment be missed--missed being more than 3 days late and without prior notification/and arrangements made with the seller via email--then all prior payments and deposit is forfeit and the kitten will be offered for sale to the next person on the waiting list. We use the official contract proposed by Felis Danica.

I reserve the right to refuse the sale of any kitten pictured on this web site at anytime without explanation.

Please be aware that these kittens are still very young.  While there is a determination of their quality noted, that could change as the kitten matures.  Please remember that these are living creatures and that nothing is "set in stone" :) We will frequently re-evaluate the kittens as they grow.  Deposits taken for Breeder/Show kittens can/will be moved to another kitten of the buyer's choice should the original kitten not develop to Breeder/Show potential as defined below by 16 weeks of age.

Finally if you find this a bit too formal then get in touch; often it is easier to discuss it over :)
